Identifying the major risksFind out what the big risks really are, and see their relative significanceMany risk analyses rank risks qualitatively using High, Medium and Low subjective judgements. These are frequently inaccurate, reflecting the concerns on the day of the assessment rather than the long term risk exposure. Furthermore, they do not reveal the relative weights of the risks: how many times more serious is a High risk compared to a Medium risk, and is this relative weight consistent across all risks? Our approach is rigorous and accurate. We identify the biggest risks and their relative weights correctly and in no more time than it takes to mark them as High, Medium or Low. The benefit to this is that scarce risk management resources can be directed at what are truly the significant risks. Furthermore, our approach shows you what overall benefit in terms of reduced exposure you can expect. Experience has shown us that even ranking risks intelligently has its subtleties and so we always identify the major risks using two completely different techniques because we know that one method alone will not necessarily reveal all types of major risk. With good risk ranking, cost effective risk management becomes a practical reality.
